A torn family

“This is a terrible tragedy; a family has been torn apart,” said Dr. Saleh Badir, the deceased mother’s brother.

“Of course we will do everything for the two rescued children,” said Badir. He also said the family was on their way to vacation by car this morning when the accident happened.

Another relative had already travelled to Egypt, the uncle reported. As far as he knew, the children who had survived the accident were already in Taba on the Egyptian side of the border and were waiting to cross.

“A serious car accident occurred in the early hours of today, killing three members of an Israeli family and injuring others,” the Foreign Ministry said. “(The family) was traveling in the area of Nuweibaa, Egypt. The Israeli Embassy in Cairo and the Foreign Ministry’s Department for Israelis Abroad are handling the incident.
