1 dead in car crash in Monongalia County

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — One person was killed in a car crash on U.S. Route 119 in Monongalia County Monday afternoon.

According to a Monongalia County Emergency Services official, emergency responders were notified of a car crash on U.S. Route 119 near the Monongalia-Taylor County line around 3:45 a.m.

The official said one person was killed in the crash and several others were transported by land to hospital for treatment of their injuries. The official could not provide details on what types of vehicles were involved.

The official did not give a cause for the accident, but said the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. The identity of the person killed was also not released.

Crews from the Clinton District Volunteer Fire Department, Triune-Haleck Volunteer Fire Department, Mon EMS and the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office responded to this emergency call.
