Collinsville police arrest man for child abuse

COLLINSVILLE, Texas (KXII) – A Collinsville man was arrested after confessing to hitting a child.

Collinsville police told News 12 that the investigation began when a teacher noticed a dark bruise on the side of a student’s head and reported it to Child Protective Services.

The child spoke to investigators and gave the name of the person who hit him. He said he was hit so hard that he was unable to think for a while.

Investigators questioned the person named by the child and the man made a confession.

Collinsville police said they appreciated the speed with which the teacher reported the alleged abuse.
