MAFS Australia’s Eden recalls horrific accident behind facial scar

Australian Married at First Sight star Eden Harper has shared the story behind her facial scar.

The reality TV star is known for her appearance on season 11, where she worked with Jayden Eynaud.

Now she has opened her full lips and explained that the distinctive feature was the result of a traumatic accident that left her with a scar on her face at a young age. Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the MAFS bride opened up about her lips, describing it as her “biggest insecurity”.

“My lips are definitely my biggest insecurity and the thing that depresses me the most when I look in the mirror is the scar across my mouth and the lack of movement in my mouth,” she admitted.

Eden recalls the accident that resulted in her scar: “I fainted when I was 21 or 22. And I landed on glass and it ripped my whole face open, and that’s where the scar on my face comes from.”

She continued: “I had a few cuts, but the most notable was probably the size of a 20 cent coin that extended above my nose over the end of my mouth… And to close the hole I had the whole thing removed during surgery raised mouth up and it gave me the huge upper lip look that I have.

The MAFS star explained that she initially had a hard time accepting her new look, sharing that the seams limited her ability to move in the lower part of her face.

“The muscle in my mouth was basically destroyed and all movement in the lower half of my face was frozen, which is pretty unfortunate,” she said. “It looks so different than it used to and I remember when it first happened, every time I looked in the mirror I thought, ‘I’ll never look the same again, and I just had that.’ to accept that.
