Four people taken to hospital after ‘malfunction’ on ride at Lambeth Country Show | UK news

London Ambulance Service said it had “sent multiple emergency services to the scene, including four ambulance crews and members of our hazardous area response team”.

An 11-year-old girl is among four people injured after a “disturbance” on a ride in south London.

Lambeth Council said the “serious incident” occurred at the Lambeth Country Show in Brockwell Park at around 6.20pm on Saturday.

Police officials said a man and woman in their 40s and a man in his 50s were also injured.

“None of the four are believed to be in critical condition,” Lambeth police posted on X.

“We are waiting for the full examinations at the hospital.”

A city council spokesman said the area around the attraction was “safe” and confirmed the fair was closed.

“A thorough investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the disruption,” they added.

“Additional security checks will be conducted on all rides and attractions at the show.”

London Ambulance Service said it had dispatched “multiple emergency personnel to the scene, including four ambulance crews and members of our hazardous area response team.”

The London rescue helicopter was also dispatched.

“We treated four people on site and took them all to major trauma centers,” a spokesman said.

Helen Hayes, the Labour candidate for the Dulwich and West Norwood parliamentary seat, posted on X: “Shocked to hear of the cancellation of a ride at the Lambeth Country Show this evening.

“My thoughts are with the injured and everyone who witnessed this terrible event.

“Many thanks to the emergency services who arrived. There is now an urgent need for clarification.”
