Two minor girls raped in Jammu and Kashmir, accused arrested

Two minor girls were reportedly raped by two men in a forest area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, police confirmed on Saturday.

Police have identified the suspects as Dalip Kumar and Ravinder Kumar, both residents of Panchound.

The victims, aged 16 and 17, were on their way home from a school picnic on Friday evening when they were allegedly attacked by the suspects.

According to a police spokesman, the girls were found unconscious in the forest the next morning.

On receiving the information, police rescued her and took her to a hospital in Ramnagar for treatment. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

The spokesman further stated that the accused fled the scene after the incident but were later arrested by special police teams dispatched to various locations.
