Man dies in lawn tractor accident in Blair County | WTAJ

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) – A man has reportedly died after becoming trapped under a lawn tractor in Blair County Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., local emergency personnel and Pennsylvania State Police responded to an accident on Kephart Farm Lane in Tyrone Township after a report of a zero-turn lawn tractor that had overturned.


The Blair County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene around 1 p.m., and upon arrival, Deputy Coroner Dellinger determined that the victim, identified as 59-year-old Michael J. Boone, died of asphyxiation after the lawn tractor he was riding went over an embankment and he became trapped underneath, according to a news release from Blair County Coroner Ray Benton.

According to Blair County Emergency Services, AMED, Sinking Valley Fire Department and Bellwood Fire Department were on scene.
