14-year-old boy found dead after disappearing in New Albany

New Albany police say a 14-year-old boy who went missing Monday has been found dead. Police say Andre Edwards Jr. was swimming in Silver Creek near Providence Way on Monday. Witnesses told police that Edwards went under the water and did not resurface. New Albany police and fire departments, as well as Clarksville police and fire departments and the Indiana Conservation Office arrived in the area around 4 p.m. to search for the boy. After nearly six hours of searching for Edwards, police said he was found in the area where he was last seen and was pronounced dead. A cause of death has not yet been released. The investigation into his death is ongoing, police said.

After a nearly six-hour search for Edwards, police said he was found in the area where he was last seen and pronounced dead.
