Israel launches investigation after IDF soldier caught on video threatening mutiny if they don’t destroy Hamas

ISRAEL has launched an investigation into an Israeli soldier who filmed himself calling for a mutiny if the government withdrew from Gaza.

The masked man in military uniform addresses Prime Minister Netanyahu and says that the Israeli military will not “hand over the keys to Gaza to any institution.”

The soldier stands in a seemingly destroyed building in the devastated Gaza Strip and threatens a mutiny within the Israeli armed forces if victory over Hamas is not achieved.

He is calling on Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to resign because he is angry that any Palestinian organization will be allowed to control its own land in Gaza after the war.

The renegade soldier, whose video was shared by Netanyahu’s own son Yair, is now under criminal investigation.

An Israeli military spokesman said: “The behavior in the video represents a serious violation of IDF orders and values and raises suspicions of criminal conduct.”

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi has also ordered army commanders to discuss the video with their subordinates – of all ranks – because of the “seriousness of the incident.”

The soldier begins in Hebrew by claiming: “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the video is for you. We reservists have no intention of handing over the keys to a Palestinian authority.”

We do not intend to hand over the keys to Gaza to any organization – neither Hamas, Fatah nor any other Arab organization.

“We do not intend to hand over the keys to Gaza to any organization – neither Hamas, Fatah nor any other Arab organization.”

The anonymous soldier threatens that 100,000 reservists will line up along the border with the Gaza Strip and refuse to move.

He says they will call on Israeli citizens to join them there and form a barrier – if the government withdraws its armies from war-torn Gaza.

By Fatah he means the Palestinian Authority – a government body with Hamas representatives that is active in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, although it is under Hamas’s control.

The PO publicly supports a two-state solution – however, the Israeli government has so far refused to discuss the implementation of this solution in the Gaza Strip after the end of the war.

Netanyahu has previously stated that he is “not ready to switch from Hamastan to Fatahstan.”

The soldier, presumably a reservist, continues: “The reservists are behind you and we want to win.

“Yoav Gallant, you can’t win the war. Stop!

“You can’t order us to do anything!”

The tirade continues: “You can’t win a war. Resign. You can’t win the war, you can’t command us.”

He then warns the Prime Minister: “We will listen to a leader, and that is not the Minister of Defense, nor the Chief of Staff, but the Prime Minister. Think carefully about who you want to give the keys to after that.”

“Our brothers and sisters did not die in vain, were not raped in vain, and were not slaughtered in their beds in vain.”

The video was taken after Israel was asked to immediately halt its operation in Rafah, a southern part of the Gaza Strip where many Palestinians had sought refuge.

The ICJ said the humanitarian crisis in Rafah had “further deteriorated” and the situation was now “catastrophic”.

The President of the International Court of Justice, Nawaf Salam, said: “Israel must immediately stop its military offensive.”

The International Court of Justice accused Israel of restricting aid to Gaza, which it denies.

The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, had requested arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant for alleged war crimes in the Gaza Strip.

Leading Hamas representatives were also involved in the request for international arrest warrants.

After more than six months of war in Palestine, more than 30,000 people have died, including over 12,000 children, according to the UN.
