The King County Coroner ruled BillyJo Kaufman Perkins’ death a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.

SHORELINE, Wash. – Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who shot and killed a 50-year-old woman in Shoreline.

The King County Coroner’s Office ruled the death of BillyJo Kaufman Perkins a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers with the King County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 22nd Avenue and NE 201st Place around 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, for a report of a person at Ballinger Homes, a public housing complex.

According to a preliminary report, officers attempted to save lives before Perkins was pronounced dead.

“Somebody knows who did this,” said Jim Fuda, executive director of Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “A 50-year-old woman who was out at night, presumably unarmed, is a gunshot victim. That’s not right.”

Anyone with information can leave tips anonymously by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at the Crime Stoppers website.

“Even if you think it’s nothing, it could be useful to investigators,” Fuda said. “Check your cameras, your Ring cameras.”

A uniformed security officer at the scene told KING 5 they had been asked to increase patrols at the site.
