The lockdown at Bel Air High is over, parents can pick up their students at reception

Update: District officials say the lockdown is over and that parents can now pick up their students at the front desk.


Update: The district sent ABC-7 the following statement.

“As a precautionary measure, Bel Air High School was placed on lockdown at approximately 10 a.m. this morning after administration was notified of a possible threat to the school. El Paso Police were immediately notified and are on scene to investigate.” Situation: All students are safe in their classrooms and under direct adult supervision.


EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – Ysleta ISD says the large police presence currently at Bel Air High School is a “precautionary measure.”

The school is located at 731 North Yarbrough Drive in El Paso’s Lower Valley.
