One person was killed in a fatal crash on US 17 in Leland

LELAND, NC (WWAY) – A fatal traffic accident has closed a portion of US 17 in Leland.

Leland police said US 17 North was closed at Westgate Drive while officers were on scene.

According to the Leland Police Department, one person was killed.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible and should expect delays for the foreseeable future.
