Investigations into the missing Gypsum teenager are ongoing

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the disappearance of a 15-year-old girl who was last seen in Gypsum on Saturday evening, May 18th.

Lorena Uribe, Gysselle Lujan’s mother, said the family has been cooperating with local authorities and authorities in New Mexico, where the girl’s father lives.

“She left her cell phone behind, which is very strange because she lived on it,” said Uribe, who said she noticed her daughter was missing Sunday morning when she was not in her room.

A volunteer community search was organized Monday evening, starting at Eagle River Estates Park in Gypsum, to look for the girl.

The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office declined to provide further information about its investigation.

Uribe said the Artesia Police Department in New Mexico searched Lujan’s father’s home Sunday night but found no sign of Lujan or evidence that the teen had made contact with her father.

Anyone with information about the missing girl is encouraged to contact the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.
