First weather warning:

  • The first day of weather warning was issued on Thursday
  • Slight risk of one or two severe storms Thursday afternoon and evening
  • Scattered rain on Friday

This evening It will be dry and mild, with partly cloudy skies.

Thursday is a first alert day as there is a risk of severe storms in the afternoon and evening. First one A weakening amount of rain and some thunderstorms will approach St. Louis from the southwest Thursday morning. At this point we are not expecting any severe weather with this round of rain, but a few showers are possible between 7am and midday, a little earlier in the west where the rain will try to hold itself together as it moves into our area.

Then, during the From afternoon to evening we have the lowest severe risk level 1. Rain early in the day may prevent the accumulation of sufficient storm fuel for afternoon storms, making the serious risk appear small and isolated. However, Let’s stay vigilant for one or two storms that may produce damaging wind or hail in the afternoon into evening. The risk of tornadoes is very low, but cannot be ruled out. After midnight, showers and a few storms will move into the area from the southwest, bringing more rain and thunderstorms Friday morning, particularly near and south of I-70. At this time, we do not expect these storms to be severe.

There is a higher chance of rain on Friday, especially in the morning, but depending on the speed of the system, some rain and storms later in the day cannot be ruled out. In some models the rain will slow down significantly and the rain will continue into Saturday, but in others the rain will taper off until late Friday afternoon. So stay tuned for when the dry weather starts, but we have very little chance on Saturday for now and a warm and dry Sunday is expected this weekend.
