Madeleine McCann suspects Christian Brueckner “tried to prevent photos of his birthmark accusing him of rape from being shown in court.”

MADELEINE McCann disappeared on May 3, 2007 – and police believe Brueckner could be behind her disappearance.

Almost 17 years have passed and no one has been charged with a related crime. These are the important dates:

May 3, 2007 – Kate McCann found Madeleine missing at 10 p.m

May 14, 2007 – Real estate developer Robert Murat has been named an “arguido,” or official suspect

August 31, 2019 2007 – The McCanns are filing a libel lawsuit against Tal e Qual – the newspaper that claims the couple killed Madeleine

September 7, 2007 – Kate and Gerry McCann are considered “Arguidos”

September 9, 2007– Madeleine’s parents returned to England with their two-year-old twins

October 2, 2007– Chief detective Goncalo Amaral was removed from the case after he criticized the British police in a newspaper interview

July 21, 2009 – Portuguese police have revoked the “arguido” status of both Robert Murat and the McCanns

May 12, 2011 – On Madeleine’s eighth birthday, Scotland Yard gives its assessment of the case

April 25, 2012 – Scotland Yard officials say they believe Madeleine McCann is still alive

July 4, 2013 – Two years after examining the case, Scotland Yard opened its own investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance

October 24, 2013– Portuguese police reopened the case after finding a new direction of investigation

November 27, 2013 – Meeting with Police Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, who calls on British and Portuguese police to cooperate

October 28, 2015 – Scotland Yard reduced the number of officers investigating Madeleine’s disappearance

March 11, 2017 – The Home Office is granting Operation Grange a further £85,000 to continue from April to September

September 28, 2017 – British police were awarded £154,000 to continue the investigation until March 2018

November 2017 – The police moved the search to Bulgaria

May 2018 – A further round of funding has been approved, with an estimated amount of £150,000

September 2018 – The Ministry of the Interior is requesting additional funding for six months

November 2018 – Additional funding has been made available, totaling around £150,000

November 2018 – British police have reconsidered the theory that Madeleine left the apartment to find her parents

June 2019 – A further round of funding, believed to be £300,000 in government money, has been approved

June 2019 – Portuguese police are investigating “new leads and suspects” after talks with British officials.

June 2020 – German pedophile Christian Brückner was revealed as the new main suspect

April 2022 – Brueckner officially introduced “arguido”.

May 2023 – Police are searching for a remote reservoir in the Algarve. Brückner calls his “little paradise”.
