Kendra Roach was found dead in a wooded area in Pittsford, New York

Monroe County sheriff’s deputies announced Wednesday that they have found the body of a missing Pittsford woman.

Kendra Roach, 57, was last seen leaving her Pittsford home for a walk around 8:30 p.m. Thursday. She was reported missing to officials Tuesday evening, said Chief Deputy Michael Fowler of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Roach’s body was found Wednesday afternoon after an extensive search of the wooded area off Monroe Avenue near her residence, sheriff’s spokesman Brendan Hurley said.

Fowler said Roach’s death appeared to be accidental and that it appeared Roach was trying to cross a log that had fallen over a stream in the woods and lost his footing. Apparently she was on her way to the nearby Auburn Trail at the time.
