2 children injured in watercraft accident at Woodward Reservoir in Oakdale

OAKDALE, CA (July 30, 2024) – Two children suffered moderate injuries in a jet ski accident at Woodward Reservoir near Bay View Boat Ramp.

The watercraft accident occurred on Saturday around 2:30 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a jet ski driver struck the 7-year-old and 9-year-old at the Bayview Boat Ramp. After the accident, the jet ski driver left the scene but was arrested by police officers who charged him with hit-and-run.

As for the children, the 7-year-old suffered eye socket fractures and leg abrasions. However, the authorities did not provide any information about the condition of the 9-year-old.

At this point, officials confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
