Hezbollah attack on the Golan Heights leaves 12 dead – the deadliest attack on Israel since the Hamas rampage on October 7

A rocket attack on the annexed Golan Heights killed 12 people, including three children, and wounded 29 others, the deadliest single attack on Israeli territory since October 7.

The Israeli military said Hezbollah was behind the attack, which hit the Druze village of Majdal Shams in the Israeli-controlled part of the Golan Heights.

A local resident in the village told The Telegraph that the attack was “horrific” and that dead children were lying on the football field. Idan Avshalom, a rescue worker with the MDA emergency unit in Israel, witnessed “gruesome scenes of injured and dead people, destruction and burning objects” on the football field.
