Rape: Man sentenced to 20 years in prison for raping underage girl | News from Vadodara

Vadodara: A special POCSO court on Monday sentenced a man to 20 years imprisonment for repeatedly raping a minor girl. Azimuddin Saiyad, a resident of Sarasia Lake Road, was arrested by the city police in 2021 after the girl’s parents filed a rape complaint against him. The complainant said Saiyad took their minor daughter to a hotel in Ajwa and raped her there. He also took her to Sindhrot and later repeated his act several times. The police arrested Saiyad and collected all the evidence against him, including the medical report of the girl who became pregnant due to the sexual assault. She later gave birth to a baby. The court also fined Saiyad Rs 20,000. In addition, the court awarded the girl a compensation of Rs 10 lakh.
