Burglar sexually assaults woman in her own home: Surrey RCMP – BC

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) of Surrey is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who sexually assaulted a woman in an apparently random attack in her own home over the weekend.

It happened around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday in the Bear Creek neighborhood in northern Surrey.

According to police, the victim was groped by an unknown man in her home near the corner of 91st Avenue and 141st Street.

When the woman screamed for help, the suspect ran away.

Mann and her roommate Jigishu Basra said they were surprised to learn of the sexual assault by a stranger in the family-friendly neighborhood.

“It was very welcoming and very quiet, so this kind of surprises me and I never thought something like this would happen here, but it’s very unfortunate,” Basra said.

“This is the first time such an incident has happened,” Mann added. “Yeah, it’s pretty bad.”
