Rapper faces murder charges after body found behind dumpster, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis police have arrested and charged a local rapper who was allegedly involved in a deadly shooting.

In May 2020, officers responded to a shooting call on Havana Street.

When officers arrived, they discovered a man had been shot multiple times.

They discovered the lifeless victim behind a dumpster where he was pronounced dead.

Upon further investigation, they identified Prentez Baines as the suspect in the murder.

Baines is known locally by his rapper name Bake Bizzle.

Officers later determined that Baines and the victim were involved in a drug deal gone wrong.

The rapper wanted to buy $25,000 worth of marijuana from the man.

Baines was taken to prison on May 8, 2024 and is now charged with first degree murder and aggravated burglary.
