Authorities identify dead man in driveway of East Side home on Sunday

SAN ANTONIO – A man found dead from multiple gunshots on Sunday has been identified.

The Bexar County Coroner’s Office said 26-year-old Rashaad Ellison died in the 100 block of Canton Street, not far from Saint James Street.

According to a preliminary SAPD report, officers were dispatched to the home around 2:20 p.m. and found Ellison in a driveway with multiple gunshot wounds.

Several pistol and rifle cartridge cases were found near the man’s body, police said.

Police said there were no witnesses and the shooter has not yet been identified. The shooting is currently under investigation.
