Registered sex offender arrested in Gainesville on suspicion of sending sexually explicit material to minors

Gainesville police arrested a 22-year-old registered sex offender on Tuesday on suspicion of sending sexually explicit material to minors in violation of her probation.

Emily Robinson posed as a 13-year-old girl to send several masturbation videos to a 16-year-old boy on the social media platform X on May 29. According to the arrest report, she described it as a “moment of weakness.”

In her brief online conversation with the boy, Robinson sent her phone number, which belonged to her 22-year-old sister, and videos of herself that she said were from her sister. However, she does not have a sister, and although her face was not visible in the content, police found a clear match with her hand tattoos, according to the arrest report.

In 2022, Robinson was arrested on four counts of possession of child pornography, promotion of child pornography, and unauthorized use of a two-way radio. After nearly 10 months in prison, she was placed on probation as a lifetime registered sex offender in Florida until 2027.

Florida state law requires sex offenders to report changes to their email address, phone number and social media account to local law enforcement within 48 hours of the change. Multiple law enforcement agencies discovered the existence of Robinson’s unauthorized social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook under “Milly Dee” and “Raylen Rais.” She also had an unregistered email address and phone number.

Robinson registered a phone in 2022 that did not have internet access, but later admitted to law enforcement that she owned a different phone on the day of her arrest. Regarding the social media accounts, Robinson said she borrowed her boyfriend’s phone to create an X-profile that she used to degrade men for money, amassing about $25 in profits, according to the arrest report.

She set up an additional X account to pose as girls between the ages of 12 and 16 and solicit money through private messages and video chats with adults.

Robinson was charged with three counts of sending harmful materials to a minor, failure to update phone numbers as a sex offender, failure to provide general information as a sex offender, providing false information as a sex offender, unauthorized use of a two-way communication device and probation violation.

Neither Robinson nor her relatives could be reached for comment.
