Pedestrian hit and killed by car in Mattydale

MATTYDALE, NY (WSYR-TV) — The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office said one person was killed following a car crash involving a pedestrian.

On July 7, shortly after 11 p.m., the victim was walking north on Route 11 in Mattydale – in front of the race track and across from the Hinsdale Fire Department – when he was struck and killed.

When NewsChannel 9 sent a photographer to the scene of the accident, part of Route 11 was blocked off by police. It has since reopened.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
