One arrested after shots fired during road rage incident | KWKT

BELLMEAD, Tx (FOX 44) – A 35-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a traffic accident in Bellmead that resulted in gunfire on Wednesday afternoon.

Johnathan Wooldridge was taken into custody following the incident on Highway 84.


An affidavit said a driver fired a gun at another on the highway, striking the victim’s car once. Police spotted the suspect vehicle with the affidavit stating that the driver attempted to evade officers by pulling into a parking lot.

Officers conducted what they called a “high risk traffic stop,” during which the driver and passenger were arrested. The affidavit states that during his arrest, the suspect expressed “upset” about the shooting and said the gun was in the vehicle.

The affidavit states that the officer discovered a small bag containing a white powder containing cocaine in plain view on the driver’s running board. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, a large bag containing additional white powder was found in the center console. There was a fully loaded Glock magazine on the passenger floor. There was a single spent cartridge case on the rear floorboard.

Upon further investigation, a loaded 9mm handgun was found along with a pill bottle containing Alprazolam. A search of the trunk of the vehicle uncovered a loaded AR-15 rifle.

Wooldridge was transported to the McLennan County Jail where he was listed as being held on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1, possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 3, discharge of a firearm fatal, etc. Unlawful Carrying a weapon.
