Winston-Salem police charge seven people after investigation

Winston-Salem police said the investigation lasted between May 2023 and February 2024.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC — Winston-Salem police have arrested seven people in connection with multiple crimes following an extensive investigation.

Officials said they began investigating several incidents involving suspected or confirmed gang members, arresting five people and charging seven in connection with 16 separate crimes in Winston-Salem between May 2023 and February 2024.

According to police, five of the seven defendants were minors.

The cases have now been solved, but they mainly involved possession of weapons in connection with several crimes, including shootings, firing of firearms and possession of stolen weapons, as well as car theft and vandalism.

Two firearms and numerous ammunition were seized.

According to police, 19-year-old Juan David Agama Noyola was arrested. He faces several charges, including inciting a minor to participate in a gang. He was held on bail of $300,000.

Police also arrested 18-year-old David Barrios Olivera and charged him with multiple counts, including discharging a firearm within city limits. He is currently being held in a detention center on other charges.

Four of the young people also face multiple charges. They have been granted custody. A youth court order has been requested for one of them.
