One person is killed in an early morning shooting in Macon

Macon Police Chief Davine Beck said it happened just after 2 a.m. on Pearl Street on Saturday, July 6.

MACON, Mississippi (WCBI) – Macon police are investigating an early morning shooting that left a woman dead.

Macon Police Chief Davine Beck said it happened just after 2 a.m. on Pearl Street on July 6.

A vehicle drove next to a car and fired a shot through the passenger window.

The victim died at the scene.

Ciara Sharda Latham is accused of aggravated domestic violence and murder.

No bail has been set.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the case.

This is an ongoing investigation.
