KADAPA: Party leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of orchestrating and encouraging attacks on YSRC supporters and accused the government of creating an atmosphere of terror in the state.

The former chief minister visited RIMS Kadapa on Saturday and met Ajay Kumar Reddy, a 25-year-old youth who was hospitalised after he was allegedly attacked by TDP men. Jagan said Ajay was attacked only because he voted for the YSRC and supported the party.

Jagan condemned the attack and reiterated that the TDP-led NDA government is developing a vicious culture of physical and psychological attack on its rivals. Accusing the yellow party of creating a fear psychosis, he said, “Never have people been attacked for voting for someone else. Such a culture is alien to Pulivendula.” He urged Naidu to instruct TDP supporters and cadres to desist from attacking their rivals.

Jagan said, “By committing such atrocities, the yellow party is encouraging the victims to retaliate in the same way in the future, which is not a proper precedent. As politicians, we should never encourage such things.”

Citing the Mahabharata, Jagan said, “He who is in power today may not be in power tomorrow. Change is the only constant. Like Sisupala, who perished after 100 mistakes, Naidu too will suffer a similar fate.”

Furthermore, the YSRC chief alleged that various systems were not functioning properly under the new government. He stated that the YSRC lost 10% of its votes due to the misleading promises of the TDP and hoped that the NDA government will keep its promises to the people.

“Farmers are yet to receive financial assistance under Rythu Bharosa and mothers are waiting for Amma Vodi. It is time for the government to fulfil its promise of providing Rs 1,500 to women and Rs 3,000 to youth every month as unemployment benefit,” he said.

Earlier, Jagan was given a warm welcome at the Kadapa airport before travelling to his home constituency Pulivendula for a three-day visit.

This is the YSRC chief’s second visit to Kadapa in less than a month. Jagan will pay his respects on the birth anniversary of his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Monday.

Meanwhile, Vempalle police have arrested four of the 10 people who allegedly attacked Ajay Kumar Reddy near Shilparamam in Pulivendula on Friday.

Vempalle CI Chand Basha said the accused had claimed to have attacked Ajay Kumar because he had insulted and written derogatory words about TDP Vempalle mandal leaders Raghunath Reddy and Raviteja Reddy.

The accused have been identified as G Hidayatulla, Mallela Maheswar of Simhadripuram mandal, Sivakumar Reddy of Kondapuram mandal and Ramireddy Dhaneswar Reddy of Vemula mandal. The remaining six accused in the attack case are being sought.
