Kai Cenat will not be charged in the New York riot

New York prosecutors have announced that no charges will be filed against a popular Twitch streamer and YouTuber who was accused of inciting a riot last year after a giveaway in New York City descended into chaos. A spokesman for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday that Kai Cenat and two others had already paid more than $57,000. Cenat also publicly apologized after the Union Square Park event went horribly wrong on August 4th.

The city did not sanction or sanction the event. Popular video game streamer Cenat promised to give away PCs, gaming seats, keyboards and consoles. His promises sparked a huge influx of fans on the streets and things spiraled out of control. Aerial photos showed people standing on vehicles. Police said pyrotechnics, bottles and rocks were thrown, and the NYPD. They also reported that three police officers were injured after they were attacked by protesters and became stuck in the crowd. The whole ordeal was a fiasco and a dangerous situation created by Cenat.

Kai Cenat will not be charged in NYC riot

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said in a statement: “The total restitution of $57,099 covers the landscaping damage and additional man-hours required for the cleanup effort. All restitution payments have already been made.” Prosecutors also said Cenat paid $55,000 to the Union Square Partnership under the agreement. Cenat was taken into custody by the NYPD on suspicion of inciting a riot, riot and unlawful assembly.

Kai Cenat apologized on social media on Tuesday. The streamer admitted that he “unintentionally created a dangerous situation through the way I promoted and promoted it.” He further wrote: “I’m from New York and I never want to see the city turned upside down by unwanted, irresponsible and dangerous behavior.” He concluded: “I wanted to do something cool and fun for people and didn’t think so “It would turn into something that would harm the city and I should have thought more about the post before announcing it.” Overall, the situation seems to have been resolved and Kai is lucky that he was not charged.
