According to police, knife attack in Israeli shopping center leaves one person dead and another injured

One person was killed and another injured in a stabbing at a shopping center in the Israeli city of Kamiel on Wednesday. Police called it a “terrorist attack.”

Gal Zeid, spokesman for Israel’s Galilee Medical Center, said doctors declared the victim dead after resuscitation attempts failed.

The other injured person is a man in his twenties who is currently in critical condition, Israeli emergency services said.

The deputy director of the Karmiel municipality’s security department said the situation was “difficult,” but added that the area had been secured to care for those injured in the attack.

The attacker was shot by one of the injured victims, the commander of the Northern District of the Israel Police told local media.
