Couple in their 80s die in apparent murder-suicide in Marshall Township

Allegheny County police are investigating an alleged murder-suicide in Marshall Township.

Police said emergency responders were notified of a homicide in the 600 block of Spang Road shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday.

Police said they found an 80-year-old woman and an 81-year-old man dead of gunshot wounds. Their preliminary investigation shows the man shot his wife and called 911 before shooting himself.

As of Monday morning, the identities of the two were not yet known.

The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to a request for assistance in Marshall Township and will continue the investigation.
