Girl from Hyderabad gets justice after two years.

Hyderabad: At the age of 13, in May 2022, she went to the police station alone to file a complaint against her father for his ‘gande kaam’. Tender age was not enough, sheer trauma was not enough, not even her family supported her. After two years of struggle, she has finally managed to bring her father to justice. A city court has sentenced her father to life imprisonment and also asked him to pay Rs 500,000 as compensation to the survivor.

The girl, who lives in the Old City, made sure that a complaint was filed against her father. The case was prosecuted under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

According to a report in the Times of India, lawyers and police said the girl showed remarkable courage during cross-examination by the defence lawyer.
