Wichita man involved in alleged domestic violence incident that prompted evacuations and blockades in downtown faces charges

WICHITA, Kansas (KSNW) — Jonathan Ross made his first court appearance Monday.

According to court documents, Ross was accused of:


  • A case of serious criminal threat; causing terror, evacuation or disruption
  • Two counts of grievous bodily harm; use of a deadly weapon
  • One count of criminal threat; causing terror, evacuation or disturbance
  • A case of domestic violence; knowingly rude physical contact with a family member or in a relationship
  • Two cases of unauthorized discharge of a firearm within city limits

Ross was involved in an alleged domestic violence incident on Wednesday that led to the evacuation of nearby businesses and other residents of the apartment complex, as well as the closure of East Douglas Avenue in both directions.
