YouTuber arrested for ‘promoting sexual exploitation of children’ through videos: Ghaziabad police | Delhi News

Police said the FIR was registered against Metray under sections 67a and 67b of the IT Act and the POCSO Act after social activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj filed a complaint at Kaushambi police station on June 12.

Ritesh Tripathi, deputy commissioner of police of Indirapuram, told The Indian Express that an initial investigation has been launched and a chargesheet will be filed soon. “She (the accused) is a gaming streamer… and while streaming, one can talk to the audience… she made (certain) remarks while streaming. In a video, she is seen promoting rape of minors and newborns. We have seen the video and she has confirmed that it is her.”

Metray, who runs a YouTube channel under the name ‘Kunwari Begum’, has around 2,000 subscribers. She graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Delhi in 2023 and worked for a clothing company in Delhi.

“She was working from her desktop and we removed all her videos,” a police officer said.

In her complaint, Bhardwaj alleged that the streamer promoted and encouraged sexual acts against minors and newborns and distributed explicit sexual material through her YouTube channel.
