Four banks in Kyrgyzstan stop operating certain money transfer systems

AKIPRESS.COM – Several commercial banks in Kyrgyzstan have announced the suspension of operations of certain money transfer systems.

Eldik Bank reported that systems such as Astrasend, Unistream, Contact, Zolotaya Korona and Sberbank Online are not working for technical reasons.

Mbank has announced the introduction of temporary restrictions on ruble accounts and cards (top-up, transfers, exchange). At the same time, all clients’ funds in ruble accounts are absolutely safe. Bank clients can withdraw funds at bank branches; there are no restrictions on withdrawing Russian rubles at cash desks.

The commercial bank KSB announced that all operations via money transfer systems were temporarily not possible.

Kompanion Bank announced that sending and receiving transfers in rubles in the Kompanion application and through the Unistream system is not possible for technical reasons.

A total of 23 commercial banks operate in Kyrgyzstan.

On June 12, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on the Moscow Stock Exchange, which suspended trading in dollars and euros. Trading results on the Moscow Stock Exchange are used by the Russian Central Bank to set the official ruble exchange rate.
