Watertown Fire Department responds to multi-vehicle crash with injuries | Local News

{KXLG – Watertown, SD} On June 13, at approximately 1 p.m., the Watertown Fire Department was called to the intersection of 177th Street and 449th Avenue to respond to a multi-vehicle crash with multiple injuries and a possible vehicle fire.

When they arrived at the scene, paramedics attended to two occupants of one of the vehicles while engine crew attended to a truck that had smoke coming from the hood. Crews used hydraulic spreaders to access the truck’s engine compartment and determined that there was no fire.

Two occupants were transported by ambulance to Prairie Lakes Hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. Additional responding personnel included the South Dakota Highway Patrol, Codington County Sheriff’s Office and Performance Towing.

The Watertown Fire Department deployed three appliances and six personnel and was on the scene in about 25 minutes.
