OHP identifies two dead in crash on I-44

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has released more details about a fatal crash on I-44 Tuesday afternoon.

According to OHP, the accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-44 near Western Avenue around 3 p.m.

Officials said the vehicle, a 2022 Vander Venice, veered off the roadway to the left and struck a concrete wall. The car then struck an impact absorber before coming to a stop facing west in the eastbound lane.

The driver, identified as 24-year-old Maximillian Pfeifer, and a passenger, 25-year-old Brice Kukuzke, both died from their injuries.

OHP says the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
