Teenager attacked in driving aggression incident in Colorado

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) – An Arapahoe County family is pleading for answers after their teenage son was beaten in an apparent road rage incident Thursday night.

It happened around 8:50 p.m. on Thursday. Officers responded to a possible traffic accident in the 6000 block of South Fraser Street, near Parker and Orchard Road. When officers arrived, they found the teen and determined it was not an accident, but a road rage incident.

The teen’s mother, Monique Ramos, said he was driving into the facility when the other driver pulled out and nearly hit him, leading to the heated scenes.

“The other driver got angry and my son was still driving when the other driver got out and threw a rock at his car. And my son got out and that was probably the wrong thing to do because then he was attacked,” Ramos said.

The boy said they punched, kicked and strangled him, leaving him with numerous scars and bruises. His mother and the rest of his family live just a few minutes down the street, so Ramos got to the scene as quickly as possible.

She described what was going through her mind when she arrived.

“Oh my God. Is he OK? Where are these people? I could just see police officers surrounding him and my son crying on the ground. It was just disturbing for any mother to see her son in that situation,” Ramos said.

Ramos said her son is extremely shaken by the situation, unable to go to work and having nightmares – all in addition to the pain of his injuries.

The suspects quickly left the scene after the altercation, but apparently there were witnesses. This pleading mother is begging for someone to come forward.

“If I had seen that, I would have stayed on the scene and given the officers information. I understand that people are scared and don’t want to get involved, but if you had video of what they looked like, what their car looked like, what direction they were going, all of that information would be helpful,” Ramos said.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said the first suspect is a heavyset Hispanic man, estimated to be in his mid-40s, about 5’5″ tall, with short black hair, tattoos on his arms and stubble. The second suspect is described as a Hispanic woman in her 40s with long black hair. They were believed to be driving a small gray sedan.
