Brutally hot weather brings much-needed rain – Action News Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – First Alert Weather Meteorologist Corey Simma continues to monitor Sunday’s high temperatures and is on the lookout for much-needed rain.

Jacksonville made it to at least 98 on Sunday afternoon, with the final number to be announced later in the evening.

Monday will be hot like the last few days. A few storms will move across southeast Georgia on Monday afternoon/evening.

The weather will become wetter on Tuesday. Moisture will move in from the Gulf of Mexico, so temperatures will drop but it will remain very humid.

There may be some thunderstorms on Tuesday and Wednesday, with more extensive rain expected on Thursday and Friday.

Rainfall amounts of 2-3 inches are likely near and south of I-10 through next weekend. Rainfall amounts are expected to be slightly lighter in southeast Georgia.

There are no problem areas in the tropics and no developments are expected in the next week.
