Dispute over video game leads to physical assault in Overland Park

OVERLAND PARK, Kansas – Overland Park police are investigating an aggravated robbery and aggravated assault incident that occurred Wednesday that left a man hospitalized in serious condition.

According to police, the incident occurred in an apartment complex west of W. 107th Street and Marty Street.

According to police, several men were in a second-floor apartment playing a video game when an exchange of hostile words ensued, which escalated into physical violence when five men attacked the victim.

One of the men tried to take money from the victim while he was resisting.

According to police, the victim was able to escape by jumping from the second-floor balcony.

According to police, no weapons were involved in the incident.

All five suspects were arrested.

According to police, the victim was severely beaten and taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
