LAPD lifts citywide tactical alert after encampment outside City Hall cleared

A citywide tactical alert for an illegal demonstration outside Los Angeles City Hall has been lifted.

Protesters set up a camp with about 20 tents near the corner of First Street and Spring Street around 9 p.m. on Monday.


About an hour and a half later, the LAPD confirmed to KTLA that it had issued a citywide tactical alert.

A video from Sky5 showed the line of tents along the sidewalk, but the camp was not cleared by police until hours after it was set up and all of the protesters’ equipment was confiscated.

The citywide tactical alert was lifted around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, the LAPD said.

There was no immediate report on whether any arrests were made.
