7 free agents who could still sign with the Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills just received over $10 million in cap space due to the June 2 release of former cornerback Tre White. It was a much-needed relief for a team that previously only had about $1 million in cap space.

The Bills are in a transitional year with their roster and salary cap after releasing big names like Tre White, Safety Jordon Poyer and Center Mitch Morse. They also traded star wide receiver Stefon Diggs, causing them to eat up over $30 million in dead cap space this season. Their receiving room, in particular, is trying a lot of new things due to the Diggs trade and the loss of former starter Gabe Davis, who left for Jacksonville as a free agent.

This is not a disaster for the Bills passing game, however. They have a generational talent in Josh Allen at quarterback who can make any receiver productive. They drafted wide receiver Keon Coleman. They signed receivers Curtis Samuel, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Mack Hollins and Chase Claypool while still having rising star Khalil Shakir on the roster. They have Justin Shorter who missed most of his rookie season due to injury. Let’s also not forget that they have Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox at tight end.

Despite losing Tre White at corner and Jordan Poyer at safety, the Bills have Rasul Douglas, Christian Benford, Taron Johnson, Cam Lewis, Taylor Rapp and free agent signing Mike Edwards. Additionally, head coach Sean McDermott has a way of getting a lot of production out of his defense no matter who is running it.

So this is not a catastrophic situation, despite what some national media say.

Still, the Bills will always look to add talent. After all, their sack leader last year, Leonard Floyd, arrived late in the offseason. Free agency is always an ongoing process for everyone in the NFL and now that the Bills have some room, they MIGHT look to add someone to the roster.

I’ve put together a list of people who I think might be interested in appealing, at the right price, now that they have some cap space. I emphasize MIGHT be interested. I don’t know if they are or will be. These are not rumors, just ideas. Bills general manager Brandon Beane could honestly stay on the money in case of injury or trades later in the season. Here are 7 free agents who could still sign with the Buffalo Bills.
