Man allegedly attacked woman in Delaware and stole her car – NBC10 Philadelphia

A Delaware man was arrested after police say he sexually and physically assaulted a woman and then stole her car.

According to the Delaware State Police, officers responded to a residence on Philadelphia Pike in Claymont shortly before noon Wednesday after receiving reports of a sexual assault and a car theft.

When officers arrived, police said they found that an unknown man – later identified as 26-year-old Keenan Brown-Meads of Claymont – had approached a woman as she was getting out of her car.

Brown-Meads then sexually and physically assaulted the woman before dragging her out of her car and fleeing in her vehicle, police said.

The woman – whose identity has not been released – was treated and released at a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

On Thursday, shortly after midnight, officers from the Tinicum Township Police Department in Pennsylvania observed the stolen vehicle near Philadelphia International Airport and conducted a traffic stop, according to police.

The driver was identified as Brown-Meads and taken into custody, police said.

According to police, Brown-Meads is accused of the following crimes:

  • Rape 2and Degree (Crime)
  • Robbery 1st Degree (Crime)
  • Unlawful sexual contact (crime)
  • Attempted strangulation (serious crime)
  • Attack 3rd Degree
