(KRON) — A GoFundMe page has identified a driver who died in a wrong-way crash on Highway 101 in San Jose last week. Justin Thomas Malvas, 24, of San Jose was killed in the May 24 crash, his family wrote on GoFundMe.

The page states: “Justin’s passing leaves a void in the lives of his friends and family that will be deeply felt. Whether it was his infectious laugh, his ability to hold deep conversations, his sense of humor, or simply his genuine presence, Justin had the unique gift of making those around him feel appreciated and loved.”

More than $25,000 has been raised to help the victim’s grieving family pay Malvas’ funeral expenses.

The fatal crash occurred at 11:15 a.m. on May 24 near the Blossom Hill Road exit of Highway 101. California Highway Patrol officials said their Honda sedan was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with a semi-truck.
