Surat: A 27-year-old woman from Telangana has filed a rape and dowry complaint against her live-in partner. She alleges that he entered into physical relations with her several times and promised her marriage, while his mother demanded Rs 10 lakh in cash and five tolas in gold for the marriage. Police have booked the man and his mother under Section 376(n) of the Indian Penal Code (raping the same woman several times) and the Dowry Act. According to details, the woman divorced her husband on September 23 after falling in love with this man on Instagram in 2017.
