Man arrested, 25 pounds of meth seized during joint TTPD and MCSO investigation

TEXARKANA, Texas – On May 23, a man was arrested and 25 pounds of methamphetamine was seized as part of a joint investigation by the Texarkana Texas Police Department and the Miller County Sheriff’s Office.

Timothy Brooks, 44, of Texarkana, Texas, was arrested at a residence on Skyline Boulevard. A large quantity of drugs was found in the house, according to a TTPD press release.

Members of the TTPD Special Investigations Unit and the Miller County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the residence and seized approximately 25 pounds of methamphetamine, more than 13,000 ecstasy pills, several pounds of marijuana and a stolen handgun.

Brooks was arrested at the scene on warrants for DUI (three or more offenses) and probation violation. He is being held at the Bi-State Jail. Additional drug-related charges will be filed in the next few days after investigators have had a chance to confer with prosecutors, police said.

In addition to the Miller County Sheriff’s Office, the Little River County Sheriff’s Office and the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the investigation.

On May 21, officers from the Ninth West Drug Task Force and the Miller County, Lafayette County and Little River County Sheriff’s Offices executed a search warrant in Little River County.

Officers seized about half a pound of methamphetamine, several hundred dollars and other paraphernalia related to the sale of narcotics. One arrest was charged with dealing in methamphetamine, according to police.
