Bengaluru: A man allegedly stabbed an autorickshaw driver on May 4 to take revenge for an alleged sexual assault on his girlfriend.

Autorickshaw driver Sundar Raju, a resident of Konanakunte police station, was attacked by Muhammad Ansari, a local of Kasaragod. Police have arrested Ansari for the attack and registered a case against the rickshaw driver, which also includes sexual harassment.

Ansari, accompanied by his friend from Chikkamagaluru, had travelled to Bengaluru to find a house on rent, but as they could not find one, they headed back home.

While they were waiting for the bus at the Majestic bus stop, Sundar Raj approached them and informed them that buses would be available only the next day and that there were no rooms available. He invited them to his home.

It is alleged that Sundar Raj misbehaved with the woman in his house, following which Ansari attacked him and left the house with the woman. The hospital driver claimed that he was attacked by two passengers. The hospital authorities informed the police.

According to the driver, police arrested Ansari for the attack. The driver was subsequently charged with attempted sexual assault.

The police are continuing to investigate this case.
