Former Florida State WR and Buffalo Bills rookie Keon Coleman receives praise from QB Josh Allen

Former Florida State wide receiver and Buffalo Bills rookie Keon Coleman expects to make an immediate impact in the NFL this upcoming season. The 6-foot-3, 213-pound wideout could be a hot new target for star quarterback Josh Allen, who expressed approval of the second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

“I think his style of play (is) what we needed in our offense,” Allen said on NFL Network that littlek. “I spoke with our offensive coordinator (Joe Brady), our quarterbacks coach (Ronald Curry), (general manager) Brandon Beane and obviously coach (Sean) McDermott, a guy who is a big guy and who can win a game. -shoulder fades and I’m not afraid to be a physical receiver I think you pair him with some of the guys we have in our room right now…we’re going to have a. pretty solid group that works together.

Buffalo selected Coleman in the second round with the 33rd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft in April. He potentially replaces a void at wide receiver left by Stefon Diggs, who was traded to the Houston Texans in early April. Diggs has led the Bills in receiving yards over the past four seasons, also earning a spot on the Pro Bowl roster each year. Buffalo also lost sophomore receiver Gabe Davis to free agency.

Coleman has the ninth-best odds to be the 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Buffalo could very likely have a steal on their hands after landing the former Florida State star on day two of the NFL Draft.

Coleman spent only one season with the Seminoles, but finished as the leading receiver with 50 catches for 658 yards and 11 touchdowns, tying him for 11th among all FBS wideouts in 2023. He made in averaged 13.16 yards per catch. Coleman earned first-team All-ACC honors during his lone season in Tallahassee before choosing to skip his final year of eligibility and declare early for the NFL Draft.

Coleman spent the first two years of his college career at Michigan State. He played in a total of 22 games for the Spartans and had an outstanding sophomore campaign in 2022. Coleman led the Spartans in all receiving categories, hauling in 58 passes for 798 yards and seven touchdowns.

Coleman entered the transfer portal in April 2023 before joining Florida State this summer. He is considered a four-star transfer prospect.

Coming out of Opelousas (La.) Catholic School in the 2021 high school class, Coleman is considered a four-star prospect. He ranked as the No. 42 wide receiver nationally and No. 13 overall, regardless of his position in Louisiana. Coleman signed with Michigan State to play football and basketball.
