One dead, ALEA on scene after shooting in Athens

ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – The Limestone County Coroner says one person is dead and multiple departments are on scene following an incident in Athens.

Coroner Mike West told News 19 that one person died from multiple gunshot wounds following an incident in the area of ​​Songbird Drive in Athens.

West said Athens police are on scene and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is also on scene.

News 19 has reached out to both Athens Police and ALEA for more information but has not yet heard back.
