Mohawk man charged with child molestation

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – A Mohawk man was charged Thursday with sexual exploitation of two minors and possession of child sexual abuse materials. If convicted, 37-year-old Andrew Edick faces 35 years to life in prison.

According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), between August and October 2022, Edick caused two minor children to engage in sexually explicit conduct to create child sexual abuse material. He is accused of committing these crimes despite being required to register as a sex offender.

Edick was charged with distribution of child sexual abuse materials after distributing them on the Internet, including possession of such materials. In addition to a possible penalty, Edick would also face a fine of up to $250,000 and a prison sentence of at least five years to life. He would also be obliged to pay compensation to the victims and to retain equipment used for the crimes.
